Sir Rios...
두산팬 마음속에 영원히 기억될껍니다.

Thank you for your patience. I just arrived in Tokyo and here is my letter:
Kamsahabnida.
Those are the first thoughts that come to mind as I start to write. Thank you to all the friends I made over six years. Thank you to the Doosan group and its fans and thank you to the KBO. I never thought that I would be in this situation. Doosan was more than generous with their offer. My wife cried with the sincerity in the letter the Doosan corp wrote with their 2 year offer. However in the end I had to make a financial decision since foriegners are restricted in what they can earn in the KBO. It is always about finances to a baseball player. After years of playing and making less than $10,000 a year in the minor leagues, when one gets older he has to think of how he will provide for his family after baseball.
I know my departure was late for Doosan. I had to wait because of my contract obligation. I was not a FA until late December. I never disrespected Doosan. I treated them with the same respect and love they showed me. I also did not use their offer towards other teams. I have the upmost respect for the Doosan organization. I would not treat them in any ill way. The Doosan fans should be proud of their company and players. Everyone works with such passion and dedication. The front office bleeds blue and white and the players and coaches work so hard to put a winning product on the field. It was an honor to play with them.
As for the fans, I hope you understand my decision. While I played in Korea I played everygame with 100%. I hope you appreciate my work ethic and my effort at the ballpark. I see fans cheer the Korean players when they choose to play in Japan. I ask that you please do the same for me. What the fans did for me this year was unbelievable. They supported me and carried me all year. It really touched my heart. I will never forget how special the fans made my season.
I made many friendships in Korea. It all started in Kwangju in the neighborhood I lived called Unam-dong. From their it spread to every city I visited. I would like to thank everyone that touched my heart. I was treated very well as a guest. After a while I no longer felt like a guest. I will always speak fondly of Korea. For 6 years it was my home and I will never forget that. I will never forget the experiences I had in Korea. I am grateful for everyone who befriended me and may our lives croos path again some day.
Kamsahabnida and anyeong.
